What does a Clean Air Partner do?
Participating in the Clean Air Partner Program is simple, with only a few requirements of Partners.  To join, Clean Air Partners pledge to make a good faith effort to reduce their ozone-causing emissions by 10% within three years.  In addition, Partners report their emission-reducing accomplishments once a year via a user-friendly reporting website.

How do Partners reduce their emissions?
The program includes dozens of ways employers can choose to reduce emissions, some of which include:

  • Commute solutions programs that reduce the number of single-occupant vehicle (SOV) trips to the work place (driving to alone). Strategies include carpooling, vanpooling, riding the bus, bicycling and teleworking, and flexible work schedules.
  • Clean energy use and energy conservation
  • Clean vehicles and/or clean fuel use for employer fleets
  • Cleaner landscaping practices such as using cleaner-burning fuels, using converted gasoline engines, purchasing cleaner alternative fuels (e.g. propane, etc), or avoiding landscaping in the morning or all day on days where high ozone is predicted (Ozone Action Days).
  • Cleaner industry-specific practices for businesses such as dry cleaners, body shops, landscape companies, construction companies, printers, etc.

Employers choose the strategies that make the most sense for their business, and the staff keeps track of your goal!
